Every girl wants luscious long hair...

(All images found on the web!)

I'm feeling a bit uninspired by my hair at the moment. My natural colour is a sort of mousy-brown colour which I've always dyed dark brown until the summer when i took the plunge and took my first steps towards becoming a blonde. Since then I've just been getting steadily more and more blonde. In it's current state it's a little bit of a 'blockish yellow' colour - not quite the look I was after! My ideal hair would be long, messy/beachy multi-tonal blonde hair a la Mary Kate Olsen. I'm pretty wary of going too blonde, as it's obviously not my natural colour and would probably wash me out! (Although I was blonde as a child so who knows?!)

I've been wearing clip-in hair extensions for around a year now. Since my hair is naturally pretty flat and a boring "below the shoulder/above the boobs" length, I love the effect extensions give me (i.e completely transformed voluminous long hair) that I would never be able to achieve without the added help! My usual hair extension brand of choice is headkandy. I've had two sets of full head hair extensions from them in the past, my first was in the shade iced coffee and the second was in butterscotch highlights - both sets were length 16-18 inches. I absolutely loved my headkandy extensions, they were amazing quality and looked really natural on. However, my butterscotch highlights extensions are now too dark for my hair, and I have the insane desire to have really long mermaid-style hair!

I decided to try bobby glam extensions after finding them on facebook. I went to the website and saw they had a sale on, so decided to splash out on some 20-22 inches double wefted extenstions in the colour manhatten hightlights. I believe (I may be wrong) that headkandy and bobby glam are part of the same company - they have the same shades but bobby glam stock more hair accessories such as fake pony tails - therefore they should be the same amazing quality as hk extensions. You get less wefts with bobby glam (7 whereas with hk you get 10) but I don't mind as I never use them all anyway! Bobby glam let you choose from double, tripple or quad wefted extensions. With Headkandy extensions they include one 'quad weft' in their full head sets which really helps to add thickness to your hair, but I decided to just go for double wefted bobby glam ones, as they will already be double the thickness of normal extensions!

I'm really looking forward to getting my new extensions, from the website they look like they will be a really nice multi-tonal warm blonde. Hopefully my hair will look something like the pictures above!

I have not been sponsored by Headkandy or Bobby Glam. All opinions are my own and I purchased the extensions with my own money.

Working Girl

Skirt and belt | Topshop
Blazer | H& M (last year)
Leotard | New Look
Necklace | Spanish market

I wore this outfit to work recently. Luckily in my office all of the girls dress really fashionably, so you don't have to just wear suits every day. I'm glad I don't have to live in boring clothes now that I have a full time job, I actually feel pretty smart in this with a blazer and heals! I can't wait to get my new 'work wardrobe' fully up and running once Christmas is over!

I really love this skirt, I got it for £15 in the Topshop sale so was a bit of a bargain. You guys know I'm obsessed with this colour, it's pretty much the same as the skirt I blogged about here and here. I've never worn a paperbag skirt before though, and was worried it would be really unflattering, but I actually find it's very slimming! (It covers up all my fat bits anyway.) I'm still loving my Topshop Ohh la la lipstick, I wear it pretty much every day even though it's quite a summery shade. I've tried to get into wearing nude lipsticks but just can't do it as I feel washed out. I like wearing this with lip balm underneath so it doesn't come out so strong.

You guys may have noticed my blog's had a bit of a re-vamp! I now own my URL, I'm kathykins.com instead of kathykinsxo.blogspot.com ! I've also got a little favicon - but it looks very similar to the Topshop heart so may have to change it! But hope you guys like :)

Christmas Time c/o Motel Rocks!

Dress | c/o Motel Rocks
Shoes | Topshop
Lips | Topshop Hazard

Wow feels like ages since I last blogged! It's been really hard to find the time since I've been working full time, as it's dark in the morning when I get up, and then completely dark again by the time I get home (damn winter!) The only times I really get to blog are weekends, and I've literally been non-stop since I started working, this is the first weekend I've had to myself in a month! SO my new plan is to make blog posts over the weekend and schedule them through the week... desperate times call for desperate measures! Fingers crossed this new plan works out as I've really missed blogging, but I'm pretty bad at sticking to a routine so we'll see what happens!

I haven't really had much to blog about either, as I haven't really bought myself anything as it's Christmas and you're supposed to buy for other people! Buuut I've kind of broken that rule recently as there's been a few bits I wanted, and with the party season well and truly upon us I couldn't resist making a few clothes/makeup related purchases (slaps hand). So bear with me and I will be scheduling posts with my new bits and bob and things I'm loving! Buuuut the reason for this post (drum role please!) is to show you the dress I received from Motel!!! It has literally taken me FOREVER to get hold of this (completely my fault - I shall explain) I only actually got it last Wednesday, even though the event was well over a month ago. The reason is I didn't actually give Selina my address on time, and then when I did and she sent the dress over, it didn't fit me :( (p.s. this dress is either really small or I'm getting fatter :/ ) sooo I had to send it back and get a size medium, which arrived on THE DAY of my work Christmas party!! Talk about in the nick of time, I actually went out and bought another back up dress in case it didn't arrive in time!! But I can safely say this dress was completely worth the wait! I love it! I got so many compliments when I wore it, thank you so much Selina! I look really washed out in these photos thanks to the dodgy lighting, but I'm so happy with the dress!

I kept my outfit pretty simple as I wanted to keep the dress as the main statement piece. I wore my hair more curly than in these photos, and this bright red matte lipstick from Topshop which I LOVE, and these Topshop shoes, which as you can see from the angle of my foot in this photo, absolutely KILLED my poor feet!! My foot looks like it's practically broken in half, and they swelled up so much during the night that I had to take my shoes off, then got glass in my feet and someone stood on my big toe which is now bright blue!! :'( Aside from that though it was a fab night, I got really drunk and danced around like a fool :)

I hope everyone else is enjoying the party season! And please bear with me guys, I haven't abandoned my blog and have lots more posts planned!!

Love
