I've heard a lot about these Joni Jeans recently, in particular that they are a 'dupe' for the American Apparel easy jean but for almost half the price. I have been tempted by the AA easy jeans for a while now but was put off by the price tag, and the face that I was disappointed with the quality of my disco pants. The elastic has started to come out of them and the material has started to thin after only a few months of wear (and it's not like I've even lived in them, it's literally only been a handful of times!) For their price, I expected much better, so when I heard about these Joni Jean from Chloe I decided I had to check them out.
I was shopping in Bath yesterday and decided to pop into Topshop (as you do) and spotted these black ones straight away. When I tried them on I was really impressed with how comfy they are. They're sort of half-way between jeans and leggins as the material is quite stretchy but also quite thick (much thicker than my Leigh jeans by comparison). I'm normally a size 10 on my bottom half and an 8 on top, however in Topshop jeans I NEVER fit into a 10 as I have a small waist but larger hips and thighs, and have to opt for a 12. This often means that I find Topshop jeans (and shorts for that matter) to be a poor fit as they tend to be a bit of a 'square' shape, and are baggy around my waist. However, this wasn't the case with the Joni Jeans, I found that the 10 fitted me perfectly and they're a nice fitted shape, I find them nicely flattering.
I also picked up this studded vest in the Bath Topshop yesterday, because I really liked it (such a sucker for studs at the moment, practically everything I own is studded!) and thought it went nicely with the jeans (although I'd probably wear a jumper at the moment as it's still pretty chilly!) You can see me wearing it both tucked into the jeans to show off the high waisted-ness or untucked for a more laid-back look. I'm also wearing my Rimmel Apocalips in the shade Big Bang which I have been loving recently.
Have you tried the Topshop Joni Jeans? What did you think of them, did you find them comparable to their American Apparel counterpart?
